My Experience
Personal Profile
Hi,
I'm Kelly your local positive reinforcement, dog trainer. My love for dogs began at a very young age as I grew up with a black labrador called Tess and a Shih Tzu called George.
I began volunteering and later working for a Kennel Club registered Labrador breeders and dog boarding establishment. I worked here for 8 years where I learnt about dog care & welfare, whelping, puppy socialisation / puppy training and customer service.
In 2008 I began my career with Guide Dogs, where I achieved:
City & Guilds Dog Care & Welfare Qualification - GDBA
Guide Dog Trainer Qualification - Guide Dogs for the Blind Association,
Levels 1 - 5 - Standardised Training for Excellent Partnerships Programme,
Chicken Clicker - Educating Animals (yes, I clicker trained a chicken!)
I enjoyed a 15 year career with Guide Dogs and loved every moment being a part of providing independence for blind and partially sighted people.
Having two young children I decided to set up Kelly's Dog Training in Droitwich to work closer to home and to improve my work life balance. I am loving helping the local community live in harmony with your pet dogs.
In addition to working at Guide Dogs, I utilised my evenings and weekends teaching puppy training classes, adult group classes and agility foundation courses locally where I also completed an agility instructor course by Kim Hunt.
As a hobby I enjoy competing in agility around the country with my rescue cocker spaniel Bella. Bella and I are currently Grade 4 and are working towards Grade 5/7
